2019 Subaru Forester: New Design Same Soul

Being one of the most popular Subaru models isn't easy for an SUV, but the Subaru Forester has been able to carry the weight for many years. With the introduction of the new 2019 Subaru Forester, we see a new take on the tried and true model. Bigger than ever before, Subaru is calling the new Forester the roomiest, most capable, and quietest Forester to date. That all sounds great, but what are the real updates to the 2019 Subaru Forester?

Kicking off the new model year, the Forester gets a fresh design that doesn't overhaul the traditional Forester styling. You will notice the model features a larger front grille, new body cladding around the wheels, redesigned taillights, a remodeled bumper, and more. If you're looking for a sleek new design, you'll love the new Sport models that provide a black gloss finished grille frame, black 18-inch wheels, and orange body accents.

Under the Hood

In addition to aesthetic updates, the new Forester ditches the prior iterations turbocharged engine option for one revised 2.5-liter boxer-four engine across the lineup. The new engine offers drivers 12 more horsepower and two more pound-feet of torque than the previous 2.5-liter bringing the total to 185 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. Also, the six-speed manual will no longer be an option, and all Forester models will use a continuously variable transmission.
